A City Escape Tranformation
This project was a near full-home renovation and extension, completely reworking both the layout and performance of the house from the ground up.
Internally, multiple walls were removed to transform the kitchen, dining, and living areas into one seamless open-plan space designed for modern family living and entertaining. A stunning, high-end kitchen was custom built and installed by Living Design, setting the tone for the quality carried throughout the home.
Removing internal walls to create a true open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space completely changed how the home functions. It improved flow, light, and everyday usability — not just how the house looks, but how it’s lived in.
The house was extended to include a generous master bedroom with ensuite, while bespoke storage solutions and custom-built bed bases maximised functionality without compromising on style. A full bathroom renovation, new joinery, and a brand-new roof completed the internal upgrades.
Detail was everything in this build. Special plywood panel ceilings with integrated sound-control panels were installed, paired with beautifully finished rimu flooring that brings warmth and character to the space. A unique, pivoting fireplace became a standout feature, allowing the homeowners to direct heat exactly where they want it.
Outside, the home was strengthened and future-proofed with foundation strengthening, retaining walls, and a new asphalt driveway. A large deck was added to extend the living space outdoors, creating an ideal setup for entertaining and everyday relaxation.
The result is a fully transformed home that blends high-end design, clever craftsmanship, and practical upgrades — a complete renovation that feels intentional, cohesive, and built to last.
